How do I measure the space to ensure the signage fits?
Accurate measurements help prevent fit issues and ensure the design scales properly for the space. Follow these steps to measure the space for signage:
- Measure the width and height of the installation area using a tape measure. Take note of the exact dimensions in feet or inches, depending on the scale.
- Consider the depth if the sign has a thick material or if it’s a dimensional sign (like channel letters or fabricated metal sign). This will help you make sure it doesn’t obstruct pathways or violate regulations.
- Allow for clearance around the sign. Make sure there’s enough space around the sign so it’s visible and not blocked by walls, ceilings, or other objects.
- Verify installation surfaces to make sure the signage can be securely mounted.
- Check local regulations for size limits based on zoning codes, especially for outdoor or illuminated signs.
