Why Does My Warm White Halo Look Cooler on a Dark Wall?
I chose warm white (3000 K), but my halo lighting looks more white or bluish on my dark wall. Why?
This is a common and natural optical effect. The color of your wall influences how the halo appears.
Dark or richly colored walls (e.g., navy blue, charcoal, or black) absorb much of the warm (yellow/orange) light and reflect more cool tones. As a result, even true 3000K warm white LEDs can appear closer to neutral or cool white once installed.
All sample photos are 3000K.
Is the lighting actually a different color?
No. The LEDs are still factory-calibrated to 3000K. The same warm tone was tested during production.
What changes is the visual perception of the halo caused by wall color, ambient lighting, and even camera white balance when photographed.
How can I make the light look warmer on my dark wall?
For a warmer glow, upgrade to 2700K LED. This color temperature has a deeper, amber tone that compensates for the cooling effect of darker or blue-tinted walls. It’s effective for interior halo-lit letters mounted on deep blue, gray, or black backgrounds.

In short:
- 2700K → warmer on dark/rich colored walls than 3000K
- 3000K → warm, golden on white or light neutral walls; it may appear cooler on dark walls
Can this be adjusted after installation?
Minor adjustments are possible by:
- Adding a frosted diffuser film to soften and warm the glow, or
- Using a smart dimmer to slightly reduce brightness, enhancing perceived warmth.
However, for the best results, specify 2700K LEDs during production if your sign will be installed on a dark or colored wall.

3000 K → Best for white or neutral walls
2700 K → Recommended upgrade for darker or colored walls
